There are no perfect relationships because human beings can never be perfect beings. To err is to be human and so our relationships are also packed with our human mistakes. Embracing mistakes have come to be a sign of healthy acceptance as it is through committing errors that we learn the most. But when these mistakes become too frequent and go too far is when trouble starts. As individuals, we hold some ideals and some boundaries that we don’t anyone else to trespass. This goes the same with relationships. Below is a list of common mistakes that lead to breakups:
Not Having an Open Communication
An open communication is the key to healthy relationships so not having one is a sign that something is wrong. Couples should also consider each other as friends and not just as lovers. Waking up to the realization that there’s nothing you can talk about as a couple paints a picture of a doomed relationship. Be interested in your partner and see to it that you have an open communication.
Not Resolving Arguments As Soon As Possible
Arguments should be resolved as soon as possible and should not be taken over the next day. Couples who are unwilling to resolved their arguments and just let it slide away are waiting for an explosion to happen. It’s more important to maintain the peace and harmony in your relationship rather than making it a point to prove that you’re right. Couples should learn resolving their issues in the most amicable way to keep each other’s dignity.
Keeping Secrets from Each Other
It’s never a good sign to keep secrets from your partner unless you’re planning on a birthday or anniversary surprise. Place yourself in your partner’s shoes and imagine how you would feel once you discover that your partner has been keeping secrets from you. This will only show that you don’t trust your partner that much so there’s really no point in keeping the relationship if that’s the case.
Lack of Commitment
Lack of commitment is considered by most Singaporean women as the unpardonable sin in a relationship. Once they discover that their partner has cheated, there’s just no turning back anymore. Lack of commitment has been the main culprit for many failed relationships. Trust is never regained again and so the relationship is just doomed. So stay faithful to your partner if you don’t want your relationship to end.
